The 10-second summary

  • Project: Anonymous technology news and reviews website owned and operated by Francis; a personal project.
  • Goal: Improve search visibility after an extended period of limited activity.
  • Strategy: Add concise article summaries, FAQs and structured data, alongside more consistent publishing.
  • Result: The supplied Search Console Search results report records 804,000 impressions across its displayed period, with greater visibility in the later portion of the graph.

The situation

The earlier portion of the supplied graph shows limited search activity. The project focused on making articles easier to scan and establishing a more consistent publishing routine.

Evidence: Google Search Console, Performance, Search results. This report measures search performance, not Google Discover. Original screenshot retained unchanged.

Francis reviewed the article format and publishing routine to help readers find useful answers more quickly. The site’s name, domain and precise implementation dates are omitted from this case study.

The strategy

Improve article structure and maintain a regular publishing schedule:

  • Summary-first articles: Added a clearly marked summary before the main article body, giving readers a concise overview before they read the details.
  • FAQs and structured data: Added FAQ sections and supporting schema markup to organize information. The supplied screenshot does not confirm rich-result appearances or any Discover eligibility.
  • Consistent publishing: Published articles every few days to keep the site updated and expand its coverage of relevant technology topics.

The results

The supplied report shows an increase in search visibility across the selected period.

  1. Search impressions: The report records 804,000 impressions in Search results. These are search appearances, not page views and not evidence of Google Discover traffic.
  2. Change in visibility: Search activity increased after the content and publishing changes described in the project notes. The graph shows timing, but does not prove that article summaries or schema caused the increase.
  3. Ongoing activity: The later portion of the graph shows multiple periods of search activity. Sustained performance would need to be assessed using comparable reporting windows.

How to read these numbers

This personal project demonstrates Francis’s approach to readable article structure and consistent publishing. It is an independently owned website, with results limited to the supplied Search results evidence. It is not an AvantScale client engagement and not a promise of future results.
